Special Events

Because conservation is a major component in the Zoo's vision, we are proud to be able to offer you these wonderful events that focus on this core element.

Genesee Trail Day: October 9

Clans are the foundation of the social, religious, and political life of many Native American families, villages and tribes. Members of the Seneca Nation of the Iroquois belong to one of eight clans, each named for an animal that is believed to have special magical or spiritual attributes. Stations will be set up at the Zoo where visitors can learn about these animals, some still native to our own Genesee Trail, as well as their importance in the daily life of the Senecas.

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010

Cost: The Docent-run event is free with Zoo admission.
