Q. How long is my membership valid?
Your membership is valid for one full year from the time of purchase.
Q. How can I purchase or renew a Zoo membership?
We offer four easy options:
Q. At what age do you charge admission for a child?
We charge admission for children age three and older. Children age two and younger are admitted free.
Q. How old must I be to have a membership in my name?
You must be at least 18 years or older to have a membership in your name.
Q. How long will it take to receive my membership cards?
If you come to the Zoo, you will receive temporary cards right away. If you submit your application in person, by mail, fax, online or by phone, your permanent membership cards will be processed and mailed to you within 7 to 10 business days.
Q. How many cards will I receive?
The number of cards you receive is determined by the category you selected, but no more than two.
Q. Can I loan out my membership card to a family member or friend?
No. Your membership card(s) and associated privileges are not transferable to any other individual. Your membership has a tremendous value. To protect the rights of our members, we will ask to see your photo ID, such as a driver's license, at the time of your visit.
Q: Can I purchase a gift of membership?
Yes. We will sell you a gift certificate that can be redeemed by the member for one full year of membership.
Q. Can someone else use my membership to bring my children without me being present?
No. Only the named adults on the membership qualify to use the membership. They must be present in order for their children ages 21 and younger to be admitted under the membership. However, we do offer a Caregiver level membership for nannies or babysitters who would like to bring children to the Zoo without the member parents being present.
Q. Can I use my membership at other zoos?
Yes. Check out the reciprocal zoos section of our Web site for a list of more than 170 other zoos and aquariums for 50% off admission. We make every effort to keep our list current. These agreements are determined by the other establishment and can change at any time. We recommend that you call ahead to plan your visit with their latest information.
Q. What do I do if I lose my membership card?
Report lost cards by calling the Member Office at (585) 336-7216 or stop at the Zoo's Front Gate.
Q. Are membership dues refundable or transferable?
No. Membership dues are neither refundable nor transferable.
Q. Are membership dues tax-deductible?
Yes. The Internal Revenue Service has issued guidelines that affect the deductibility of memberships. Under those guidelines, you can disregard benefits (like free or discounted admission) in return for an annual payment of $75 or less. Since the cost to the Seneca Park Zoo Society - a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit - of two Seneca Park Zoo Member T-shirts is insubstantial, no goods or services were provided in exchange for your contribution at our higher levels.

Q. Are there any early or late hours specific to members?
There are early hours only April 1 through October 31. Members only may enter at 9:30 a.m.: that's 30 minutes before non-members. Higher-level members will also receive invitations to exclusive after-hours events held during the summer.
Q. How will I know when to renew my membership?
You will receive a renewal notice in the mail one month in advance of your membership's expiration date. You will also receive reminder notices. No matter when you join or renew, you will always receive at least one full year of membership.
