The Wegmans ZooMobile program has been providing educational outreach services to area schools and other institutions
The Wegmans ZooMobile provides fun and exciting educational programs year-round at elementary, middle and high schools, as well as daycare centers, preschools, nursing homes, adult day care facilities, libraries, colleges and many other organizations. The Wegmans ZooMobile also participates in numerous community service and festival-type events, such as the Harborfest and American Liver Foundation's Kids N' Trucks. Our mission is to instill an understanding and appreciation of the Earth's biodiversity and to provide our community members with the education, skills and motivation to act on behalf of the environment.
The Wegmans ZooMobile visits schools, libraries, nursing homes, scout meetings, preschools, daycare (including licensed home daycare), and public events providing themed programs for all ages. We do not do programs for birthday parties in private homes.
What kind of programs does the Wegmans ZooMobile provide?
The typical Wegmans ZooMobile program is a 30- to 60-minute presentation focusing on one of several themes targeted towards your group type. These programs focus on different animal groups, as well as animal behaviors and adaptations. However, we realize that needs differ and we can tailor a program to meet your specific needs. All programs include the use of live animals and biofacts to support the program messages. Animals vary per program themes.
